About Peckoff

A New Zealand innovation, designed for kiwis, made by kiwis. PeckOff is your proven way to stop the mess, damage, and downtime Starlings cause.

Why are Starlings a Pest in New Zealand?

Starlings might look harmless, but in New Zealand they're promblem heavy-weights. In rural areas, big flocks can trash feed and water, damage crops, and turn machinery into a rent-free nesting block. Their droppings corrode gear and buildings, and their nests create fire hazards in machinery that are responsible for 40% of all tractor fires in NZ. Their timing is spot on — usually right when you’re busiest and can least afford operational disruption.

They don’t just annoy farmers, either. Starlings muscle native birds out of food and nesting spots, spread weeds by dropping seeds where you don’t want them, and can carry diseases that put people & livestock at risk. Small bird, big headache — one the rural sector knows all too well.

Who we are

PeckOff was founded by forestry, farming, and engineering professionals who live and work in rural New Zealand. We know firsthand the mess, disruption, and costly damage nesting starlings can cause to machinery, feed, and productivity.

When we couldn’t find a reliable, humane solution, we set out to make one. After years of design, testing, and refinement, the PeckOff Starling Trap is ready for market — built tough, easy to use, and proven to help protect your gear, feed, and bottom line.
